In April 2010, charity: water and TOMS teamed up to create the first ever limited-edition water project shoe. We sold out completely in just two weeks and $5 from each shoe went directly to building a new well for a community called Sekura, in rural Ethiopia.

The charity: water team visited Sekura in late 2011, where 540 people now have access to clean and safe drinking water. Watch the video above to get a glimpse of the joy we saw in Sekura around the new freshwater well!

This is just the first of three projects we’ve funded through water project shoes. Thank you for joining us by buying TOMS and changing lives.


OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH TOMS.

Since 2010, we’ve partnered with TOMS for two rounds of limited-edition shoes. The first provided water for Sekura (above); the second round funded two more water projects in northern Ethiopia. And for each pair of shoes sold, TOMS provides a pair for a child in need.

Shoes and clean water go hand-in-hand to prevent diseases in developing countries. We’re proud to share passionate community of supporters with TOMS.
