charity: water seeks a seasoned professional to be the strategic leader, visionary, and key architect to build a team and the key systems that will drive all offline fundraising efforts, including major individual, corporate, and foundation support. Working closely with the CEO and Director of Digital, you will manage a team that will pursue and cultivate high-potential major individual gifts and operations fundraising support.
In less than five years, charity: water has raised more than $38 million dollars by inspiring more than 200,000 supporters around the globe, and is beginning to scale. This position provides an ambitious professional the opportunity to play a key role in designing and implementing a fundraising program that will support rapid growth and expansion. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development will be an integral part of charity: water's senior management team, ensuring that all program initiatives are viable from a funding perspective. We intend to be poised to raise and grant $100M+ to water programs in 2015. This represents average water revenue growth of 65% per year. In 2010, the organization saw 84% growth and 2011 is up an additional 85% YTD. We seek to grow operations funding by an average of 40% per year for the next 5 years. Our private membership program, The Well, is expected to generate approximately 1/3 of that funding each year, with additional support coming from corporations, foundations and major donors. Particular focus will be placed on operations fundraising to fund the business and support our 100% model.

- * Develop strategies, products, and initiatives to drive funding to support staff and operations.
- * Build a small and efficient team to lead and manage all offline fundraising initiatives.
- * Assess current systems, processes, and procedures and, where necessary, design and implement new systems, processes, and procedures that efficiently support the organization and enhance donor experience.
- * Supervise and mentor the development team; provide leadership, inspiration, accountability, and opportunities for professional growth.
- * Analyze supporter data to find new opportunities, ensure all activities are measurable to drive efficiencies and maximize results.
- * Expand the experience for major donors, with a focus on operations supporters.
- * Develop and implement a major gift fundraising program.
