As a software developer for charity: water, you'll help develop state-of-the-art web applications and integrate these applications with our back-office systems. This opportunity is for the New York City area only.


responsibilities:
  • * Design, develop and test web-based software to be used by our donors and fundraisers.
  • * Build integration software to tie our back-office systems to our donor-facing web applications.
  • * Monitor and maintain our back-office systems and our website environment.
  • * Gather product requirements and convert them to software designs and system design specifications.
  • * Be innovative and flexible in order to accomplish the various tasks that are inherent to such a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

skills.
  • * Bachelor's in CS or equivalent and two or more years software development experience.
  • * Experience developing in the LAMP environment (or variants), as well as Java/J2EE, and RDBMS systems such as MySQL. PHP experience is a must.
  • * Experience developing mobile applications or a significant understanding of the fundamental issues with mobile applications.
  • * Systems integration skills (e.g. data management and synchronization across multiple systems).
  • * Familiarity with content management systems (e.g, Drupal).
  • * Experience with QA/Test methodologies, agile software development and/or other formal software development methodologies.
  • * Experience writing clear and concise software design specifications.
  • * Excellent communication skills across all departments within the organization.
  • * A desire to end the world water crisis.

charity: water seeks a seasoned development professional to be the strategic leader, visionary, and key architect to drive all offline fundraising efforts, including major individual, corporate and foundation support. Working closely with the CEO, you will pursue and cultivate high-potential major individual gifts.


charity: water is poised for growth and this position provides an ambitious professional with the opportunity to play a key role in designing and implementing the fundraising program that will maintain current excellence and support expansion. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Fundraising will be an integral part of charity: water’s senior management team, ensuring that all program initiatives are viable from a funding perspective.

responsibilities:
  • * Lead and manage the overall fundraising initiatives.
  • * Develop and implement a major gift fundraising program.
  • * Oversee a variety of special events and other donor-related strategic partnerships.
  • * Assess current development processes and procedures and, where necessary, design and implement new development systems to efficiently support the development operation and enhance the donor experience.
