Are donations made securely?
All payments are made securely through PayPal. We're using a gateway
feature to expedite the process- so no need to log in! No credit card
information is received by our office.
Will I be able to continue raising money past my birthday?
Yes. Please do!
How long will the September site stay up?
Indefinitely.
When will non-September birthdays be able to participate?
We're working on a website that will include everyone. We expect to launch in early '09 and if you're born in the other 11 months, you'll also be able to use your birthday to fundraise for clean water projects.

Please begin typing the first letter of your country or state and the system will bring it up.

charity: water is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in New York City.
We provide clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. You
can find us in Guidestar under Charity Global, and our latest 990 is
posted at http://www.charitywater.org/about
How can you give away 100%?
Our board of directors, private donors, foundations and sponsors cover
administrative costs so every penny you give goes to the water projects. We
even pay your PayPal transaction fees and credit card fees.
If I reach my goal, can I change it to make it higher?
YES! You can change your goal at any time by logging in at the upper
right of the homepage, and clicking "Edit Goal."
How do I promote my page?
Email all your friends, and encourage them to donate. Every penny is
matched, and goes directly to build wells that will be proved with photos
and GPS coordinates! Please note, the online plaxo widget does NOT BCC.
How can I find donations made in my name?
All donations made in honor of your birthday are listed under your
profile. You find this information and how close you are to reaching your
goal by logging in at the upper right of the homepage and selecting "Edit
Profile."
Can others see my goal and donations made in my name?
No. We have made that information private and only released to the
fundraiser to help protect donors and fundraisers' privacy.
I'm having a problem donating online, and I want to donate by check!
If you're having trouble online, you can donate via check, made payable
to Charity Global, to our office at 150 Varick Street, 5th Floor, New York,
NY 10013. If a birthday donation, please put the name in the notes section. You can also call our office at 646.688.2323 and we'll gladly
process the donation and post it to the appropriate page.
