Happy birthday to the following September Campaign fundraisers! They’ve given up their birthday gifts to help bring clean water to Central African Republic:

john
John’s turning 40: We’re not the only ones with experience in C.A.R. — John served in the country as a Peace Corps volunteer in the ’90s. He was evacuated from the country during conflict but is now using his 40th birthday to help the people of C.A.R. again.

Chan’s turning 21: Chan says he felt old as he neared his 21st birthday… until he found out millions don’t live to their fifth. “Forget freaking alcohol — they can’t drink clean water,” says his mission statement. He’s raised more than $1,378 in less than 10 days.

julie
Julie’s turning 24: Julie set her goal at $500 and she’s almost half-way there. “Instead of that 18K diamond bracelet I know you were planning on getting me this year,” she writes, “why not give the gift of water instead?” She’s hoping to go above and beyond her goal.

Thanks for using your birthday to change the world.
