Let’s make World Water Day all about birthdays.

Today is World Water Day, where people around the globe recognize the need for clean drinking water. We’re using today to talk about… birthdays.

Five and a half years ago, charity: water began with a birthday party. Founder Scott Harrison gave up his 31st birthday gifts and asked for donations to water projects instead. He used 100% of the money to fund clean water for communities in northern Uganda. Since then, we’ve made it our goal to bring clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

We believe birthdays can change the world, but don’t just take it from us… take it from the people who have given up their birthdays for clean water before! Watch our fundraisers explain how their birthdays have changed the world:
