WATER FIRST: |
Kilimanjaro Climb For Clean Water...continued Ironically, many people living in view of the Snows of Kilimanjaro do not have an adequate supply of clean water. Two of the five project sites have already been chosen. One is a boarding school for Maasai girls near the city of Arusha. Without their own water, students are currently walking several kilometers to a community well. The distance they must travel takes time away from their studies, and carrying such heavy loads is a burden for the girls. Also, their usage has become a strain on the community’s already short supply of water. The second site is a health clinic in the Karagwe region in Northwest Tanzania near Rwanda and Uganda. charity: water has offered to promote our cause and manage the projects in Tanzania with Global Partners for Development (www.gpfd.org). So whether you can donate one foot or 1000 feet, we appreciate your support! Thank you! Brax and Marc |
