Later this year charity: water will be launching in London. Our mission will be to share with Londoners the brutal facts about the 1.1 billion people in the world who lack access to clean drinking water and to show how small donations can make a big difference by providing freshwater wells. |

| WHY WATER? | OUR STORY | ||||
| Right now more than 1.1 billion people in the world, mostly in developing nations, do not have access to safe water. view images from the field >> Many people in the developing world, usually women and children, walk more than three hours every day to fetch water that is likely to make them sick. Those hours are crucial, preventing many from working or attending school. Additionally, collecting water puts them at greater risk of sexual harassment and assault. Children are especially vulnerable to the consequences of unsafe water. |
Since charity: was founded and began activity in August 2006, we have provided clean and safe drinking water for people in need by the construction and rehabilitation of freshwater wells. Through the work of exemplary humanitarian organizations like Living Water International, Concern Worldwide US, Healing Hands International, and Water For People, charity currently has 158 wells in progress and is in the process of adding 10 more. |
