Thanks for an incredible year at charity: water.
Before we move forward and set our eyes on the next year, we want to pause and celebrate. You've helped
us accomplish so much, and in this hectic season, we wanted to stop for a moment and say thank you.
In 2010 we...

Fundraised.
Our online fundraising site, mycharity: water, broke through $5 million raised. More than 5,000 of you gave up birthdays, ran, swam, biked, baked and walked, all for clean water. See some of our favorite campaigns here >

Responded.
We responded to the earthquake in Haiti by launching the Unshaken campaign to fund large-scale water projects in Haiti's countryside, and raised over $1 million to help people in Haiti get clean and safe drinking water.

 |
Expanded.
We started working in Nepal, funding water filtration systems for urban schools. Nepal is the 17th country to be added to the map for charity: water.

Got more birthdays.
More people gave up their birthdays to help charity: water this year than any other. Will and Jada Smith joined us, asking their fans to fundraise alongside them.

 |
Partnered.
We partnered with The Macallan, who created a special bottle of 64-year-old
whisky that toured the world raising $604,000 in total for water
projects. The whisky sold at Sotheby's for a world-record-breaking $460,000.

Ventured.
We ventured into the jungle of Central African Republic to share the story of
the Bayaka people for this year's September Campaign. We drilled the
first well of the Campaign live, and by year's end, reached our goal
of raising $1.7 million - enough to give every Bayaka clean water.

Blogged.
We ventured into the jungle of Central African Republic to share the story of
the Bayaka people and give each of them access to clean water.

Sold out.
No, it’s not what you think. We sold out the charity: ball gala six days in advance (a first for charity: water) and raised more than $1 million in a night.

Helped 1.7 million people get clean and safe drinking water.
This year with your help, we raised another $10 million to provide clean water for people in developing countries. We continue to raise all money to support our staff and operations separately, so 100% of public donations can go directly to the field.
In four years, we’ve funded 3,811 water projects in 17 countries around the world. This means 1.7 million people will have a chance to drink clean water. 1,754,656 to be exact.
Thank you.
