WHY WE WORK THROUGH PARTNERS. Our partners on the ground have spent years researching the terrain, learning and perfecting the skills of project building and integrating their work in the local culture. charity: water relies on their experience and knowledge to ensure holistic water programs.
charity: water funds water projects in 19 developing countries around the world. We choose countries based on their very limited access to a safe water supply, high rates of water-related deaths and whether we have exemplary local partners on the ground who can implement the projects.
After working with our partners to find the best technologies, locations and budgets for each water program, we use 100% of donations to directly fund water project construction and implementation. Our partners agree to use this money for direct project costs, separate from their administrative needs; this means 100% of your donation is used to purchase materials, build the projects and provide training for the local community to maintain the project. Water projects take about 18 months to complete. At that point, our partners submit GPS coordinates and photos to us and we prove each project publicly on Google Maps here >
We also send charity: water staff and photographers to monitor the projects and bring back photos and stories of the communities you've helped. |
