Two months after the earthquake, hundreds of thousands in Haiti are still without
clean drinking water. charity: water is launching
Unshaken
- a campaign to help Haiti recover by providing long-term clean water solutions. We need your help.
Our friends at Invisible Children gave $100,000 to get things started. Now we're challenging you to help
raise the next $100,000 at SXSW.
Every $20 donation can give one person clean water for 20 years. 100% of all
donations will directly fund long-term water solutions in Haiti.
charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking
water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund
water projects.
For the past two years, charity: water has been funding freshwater projects in
Haiti. When the earthquake hit, we helped our partners on the ground raise money
for immediate relief. Now, we're ready to fund long-term projects. Here's our
plan:
We visited eight areas in Haiti's Central Plateau, and three areas on the island
of La Gonave. We took photographs, GPS coordinates, and worked with our field
partners to produce detailed budgets for each water project.
Our goal is to raise $1.3 million to fund all eleven sites, which will
give more than 40,000 people access to clean, safe drinking water.
Each community will form a water committee to maintain and care for the new
water source.
When complete, we'll prove each project using GPS coordinates
and photos in Google Maps. You'll be able to track the progress online at
