ABOUT CHARITY: WATER.
charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
100% funds water projects.
charity: water uses 100% of donations for direct project costs. Staff salaries and other expenses are paid by a group of private donors, so every penny of your money goes to people in need.
Proving it.
charity: water proves every project built using photos and GPS coordinates in Google Maps. Sometimes, we make videos of completed projects to connect donors to the community they help. Watch the video of Will and Jada's first well here >

Water changes everything.
Every $1 invested in clean water can yield $12 in economic gains.
- 3rd UN World Water Development Report, 2009
Water transforms lifestyles, communities and the potential for future generations. Where projects are built, disease rates reduce, women and children have time for work and school, families have a better chance for economic freedom and sanitary living becomes a possibility.
WILL AND JADA'S FIRST WELL.
Last September, Will and Jada sponsored a well in Ethiopia for their friend Ken Hertz's birthday. Watch the community use their completed project here.
ABOUT THE WATER CRISIS.
right now, almost a billion people on the planet don't have access to clean drinking water. that's one in eight of us.
Up to 80% of diseases are water-related.
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause more deaths every year than all forms of violence, including war.
In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year just walking for water.
A Jerry can full of water weighs 40 lbs. People all over Africa collect water in them and haul it long distances back to their homes. Women and children usually bear the burden of water collection, walking miles to the nearest source, which is likely to make them sick.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I DONATE?
100% of the money is used for project equipment, materials and paying local drillers. Communities contribute labor, materials and time to complete their water project. In 18 months, we prove the completed project using GPS and photos so you see where your money went. Learn more here >
