Aveda is partnering with charity: water
to bring clean, safe drinking water to people in need
in India, Nepal, Madagascar and Ethiopia.
This Earth Month, the Aveda community took steps to bring clean water to people in India, Nepal, Madagascar, and Ethiopia. For the entire month of April, the Aveda community joined a digital RunWalk to trek the 3.7 miles that women and girls travel, on average, to collect water each day — and learn more about how communities change when clean water projects are built close to home.
It's life's basic need and 785 million people in the world live without it. Learn more about how clean water affects every aspect of life.Learn more
100% of donations to Aveda's campaigns go to direct water project costs since private donors cover our operating costs.Learn more
We track every dollar Aveda raises, showing you the water projects they helped fund and the lives they've changed.See projects
In communities without access to clean water, women and girls spend hours everyday collecting dirty water. Not only does the walk for water keep children out of school and prevent women from earning an income – the water often carries diseases that make everyone sick.
When a community gets access to clean water, women and girls get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.
