Why Corona International Christian Fellowship is fundraising for clean water

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
We started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and we need your help. And to symbolize the need for clean water -- and to put our feet where our mouths are -- we're going to get muddy about it.
Yes, 7 of us from Corona International Christian Fellowship -- Victor Garrido, Joshua Garcia, Thomas Yim, Robert Serna, Myles Dacio, Alexei Agdigos and Alan Llavore -- will participate in the Del Mar Mud Run 5K on Oct. 5 in Del Mar. By running in this race, which includes going through a pit of mud, as well as several challenging obstacles, we're drawing attention to the fact that while we'll play in muddy water, for many people that IS their drinking water supply.
But we CAN fix that.
Please donate to our campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
