I'm thinking about water lately. A lot. Every time I make a pot of coffee, wash dishes, take a shower, or grab some from the fridge - I'm thinking about how accessible and safe and reliable water is. Well, it's reliable to me.

More than a billion people are living without clean drinking water on our planet. Some walk miles every day to get to the nearest source: a stagnant, parasite-infested stream or pond. I'm not exaggerating. They lug it back to their families. They suffer from diarrheal disease, worms and skin problems because they can't wash. About 30,000 people die each week from water-related diseases. Most are kids under five years old.

I am attracted to charities that operate with full transparency. Charity:water transparently will use 100% of this campaign in direct water projects for a community that - as of today as I write this - is suffering.

But I cannot raise this money alone.

I am reaching out to all you amazing people who are in any of my networks to pitch in some pocket change and make a global difference that you can be proud of. You can say that your money directly went to clean water for a little child for the first time in their life. You will be telling the truth.

My mission is to raise $5000 by the end of the summer. 100% of every dollar I raise will go directly to water projects. And when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us GPS coordinates, photos and other details about the communities we've helped. Together, we'll be able to see the impact we've made.
