Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's help change that!

Every year we are asked what we want for our birthdays. What do we want? Clothes, shoes, electronics, etc etc. But what do we need? There are many people who go to bed praying that they wake up. Every 20 seconds a child dies from a disease that could have been prevented with access to clean water. Every day a woman or child treks miles to get dirty water for her family. What I want for my birthday this year is for all of us to look at our fortune and stability and decide that others deserve that too.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know in lieu of gifts. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
