It's just one month to my big 30th birthday.

With this turn of age I've come to terms with so many new challenges in my personal and professional life that seem only to get bigger with time, but they pale in comparison to the challenges that exist for so many who are less than a third my age.

Like you all, I know that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

For this 30th birthday, instead of any gifts or presents or even just Facebook posts -- I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in India under this special campaign.

I'm reaching out to all my friends, peers and professional contacts, for many of you this $30 might be the price of a meal in a restaurant, or a small spend on something you've had your eye on for a while, but I assure you this will go a longer way than either of those things.

Charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
