I know what it’s like for our body’s to ache for water.

In 2011, I had a short stint in the military as an Army officer. The platoon I belonged to would physically train in 105 degrees, wearing full-sleeve tops and bottoms, and sometimes carrying seventy-pound rucksacks on our backs. We’d be in the scorching heat most of the day, and often soldiers would pass out in front of me. Our platoon sergeant would say: “Drink water!”, “Water is your friend!”, and on a more serious note, “Drink or die today.”

I am not okay with living in a world where people do not have access to clean drinking water. I believe that charity:water knows how to solve the global water crisis in the most impactful and joyful way.

To support this vital work, I am doing a 31-mile Ultra Marathon at Smith Rock on April 8th, 2023. I'd like to use each of these miles as a way to fundraise for people who don't have access to clean drinking water. $40 brings clean drinking water to one person. Multiply that by 31 miles = $1,240. If we raise $1,240, we can change the lives of 31 people forever by giving them clean drinking water. Let's do this!
