The Pool is a community of business leaders, founders, and entrepreneurs who donate a portion of their shares in private companies to support our operations and provide a unique employee benefit.
This new program is the first to use proceeds from IPOs and other liquidity events to retain and reward nonprofit employees. It is also the newest way to power our 100% model so that all public donations can go directly to providing clean water for people in need.

How it works
Donate
Pool Members transfer or pledge a portion of their private holding to charity: water
Liquidity event
Shares remain in The Pool until a liquidity event, at which point the shares are sold
Opex
80% of funds used for overhead–which pays salaries, keeps our lights on, and makes all the work possible
Employee Pool
20% of funds held for bonuses to eligible employees
Pay Day
Following a successful year and availability of liquid assets, employees are eligible to receive a bonus
