In 2014, I interned at charity: water in NYC. After getting back to Vanderbilt, I spent a month lugging a 50-pound water jug around campus to raise awareness about the global water crisis (see campaign photo for a nice throw back). My favorite of their slogans stuck with me: “The craziest thing we can do is nothing.”

Now, eleven years later, my husband and I are in the midst of our own version of crazy (training for our first marathon with two little kids at home) to raise funds for clean and safe water in Malawi.

Here’s why: nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide still don’t have access to clean drinking water. Every day, women and girls spend 200 million hours walking for water instead of going to school or earning an income. Clean water changes everything — health, education, opportunity, and hope.

100% of your campaign funds will be used to bring communities access to clean water (charity: water funds all operations through private donors). And if we meet our goal, that will fund two full projects in Malawi.
