15th of January every year is my birthday and I am exccittteeed! Coincidentally, it's also the army remembrance day in Nigeria. Who knows? that could be why I love war movies and heavy action games. LOL.

I occasionally reflect on war and the fight for peace in the history of and even in current day Nigeria. Although the 15th is a time for reflection and a day of honour to the fallen ones, a lot of lives are also lost during wars - children, women and men alike.

But there is one thing that claims more lives than wars - water! Around 600 million people are without access to clean water around the world, unbelievable right!

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

So here I was, 23rd of December 2019, woke up at 3am and decided to flip through instagram.

I had heard of charity water before but not like this and there and then I decided to donate my 27th birthday to helping at least 30 people get access to clean water! And the best part maybe even get to meet them someday.

Seeing this come to live through your help will be the best birthday give ever for me! 100% of the money raised from this campaign will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Change starts with you and I! Let's get some clean water for 30 people.
