Dear Family and Friends,
On September 24th, I'm turning 14. This year, I am humbled to share my birthday with my brothers and sisters in Christ of Rwanda.
At first, this seemed surreal, even daunting. I couldn't imagine my birthday this year without my Grandparents. The loss of my Grandparents had devastated me. Recently, I heard someone say they were dying of thirst. Really? We take water in America for granted. It's everywhere! It was then when I experienced a bittersweet moment. Suffering + Love = Healing!! Everyday kids in Rwanda face death because they do not have WATER!!!! Together WE can make a difference. My Grandparents are my inspiration.
So, I'm not scared of turning 14 anymore. In fact, I'm celebrating my birthday like never before. I am blessed beyond measure to make this my third year fundraising for charity: water. I need your help.
I'm asking for a minimum of $24 from everyone I know -- and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in Rwanda. Even better, Charity: Water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll be able to see the communities we've helped!
My goal is to raise $2,400 by my birthday, September 24th.
