goal
Starting in May, Team Ride Water will start a 3 month road trip on motorcycles to raise awareness for the world water crisis.
No hotels, no luggage space, just two guys and the open road.
Sounds rough, right? Well imagine doing all of that without clean water.
Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of catching diseases like bilharzia and schistosomiasis (parasites) - with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change it.
So, what can we do?
Our mission is to raise $1 dollar per mile for each rider. We want every mile to matter. We are asking for pledges per mile, per month or flat out donations to help achieve our goal. Our first campaign ends June 30th (halfway through the trip), and we hope to have $7,500 at that point. At the end of that campaign we will be starting a new campaign selling photography from the trip to raise the rest of the funds.
Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to water projects, and each donation is "proved" when projects are complete. We aim to raise $15,000 by the end of the year.
I hope you'll join us in helping them now.
Fly with the wind!
