First off, thank you for your happy birthday wishes, I truly appreciate it. We're all busy, and even a simple post on Facebook shows you care.

If you're reading this, you're going above and beyond already. But I want to challenge you.

Show me you care by donating to this campaign instead of wishing me a happy birthday. You all know I'm a journalist and a human rights advocate. These issues are close to my heart.

Why? Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

How? 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
