This October 13th, I'll have lived 26 years. Living in this great free country I've never had to worry about where my water comes from. I mean sure I may use a filter but really I could drink from the tap every day and be just fine.
The truth is that I feel guilty. I feel guilty because I am aware that millions of people don't even have one of the most fundamental necessities in life: Clean drinkable water.
I've followed Charity Water for a few years now, been inspired by their great mission by an impassioned, changed and humbled man, Scott Harrison. They give 100% of the money donated straight to getting people in need clean water sources. For years I've tried to think of the right way to do this; to ask you to help. I always thought there would be a "right time," but there is no right time.
So, I beg you to watch one of Charity Water's videos, I'll suggest my favorite one (http://vimeo.com/28104222) and if you feel compelled please give a meaningful amount to you. Since it's my 26th, I'm giving $26.
Would you give a dollar for every year you've had great clean water?
Happy Birthday Water Boy :)
