The holiday season is a time for family, celebration and love.

It is also a time when America spends around $500 billion on Christmas gifts. That is more than $600 per person. After reflecting upon these facts, I decided to take a step back this Christmas-- I want to bestow a gift no box could accommodate.

I want to give people life which may one day lead them to hope and prosperity. My goal? I want to give clean water this holiday season but in order to make this a reality I need your help.

Imagine you had tons of water, but none of it was clean. Imagine having to drink, cook and clean with that water -- knowing full well that it would make your family sick. Approximately 800 million people are living without clean drinking water on our planet. My mission is to give clean water for Christmas this year.

Now, you may ask, how is this possible? What does this look like? Charity: water makes this possible. For example, $65 is enough money to fund a BioSand Filter and serve an entire family with clean water for years to come OR for $15 you can give the gift of clean water to one person.

The great news is that through charity:water 100% of every dollar raised will go toward building water projects in developing countries. And when the projects are finished (about 18 months), charity: water will show us just which communities were impacted with GPS coordinates, photos and other details.
