Why Mark Hackett is fundraising for clean water

April is Genocide Prevention Month. We are raising $1,000 for charity:water this month in honor of the 10 million people who have lost their lives to genocide in Africa over the past few decades.

Providing clean drinking water to defenseless people living in conflict zones such as the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo plays a vital role in preventing rape, abduction, and murder. By constructing clean water wells directly in communities, we can keep people from leaving the safer environment of their homes and having to walk for miles to get dirty, diseased water.

Not only does this prevent women from being raped and children from being abducted, it also improves the overall health of communities, gives children additional time to go to school, and allows women to focus on additional microeconomic activities that are vital to rebuilding countries shattered by war, mass atrocities, and genocide.

Help us help those who suffer in places where genocide is underway. Give money, give water, and give life.

This is also the donation page for Intan's MBA Graduation and Joseph's Birthday. Please give generously in honor of these two that are giving up gifts and taking donations for charity:water instead!
