After years of trying to help end the water crisis, I'm giving up my birthday in order to fund projects that help people get access to clean water in Ethiopia.
This year, instead of asking for a birthday gift or a housewarming present for my new apartment, I'm asking people to contribute by donating $2.70, $11.10 or $27 in honor of me (my birthday party will be on 1/11 in case you were wondering about the random eleven dollar amount). The best news is that Google has pledged to match every donation.
For those of you who are in the San Francisco Bay Area, look for a invite to my birthday party on January 11. In addition to a lot of clean water being served, there will be plenty of fine wine and goodies from my recent trip to Georgia and Amsterdam.
