Why Noe Rivera is fundraising for clean water

Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to run the 2023 LA Marathon, March 19th, and to do it for a greater purpose: to bring clean water around the world. Would you please prayerfully consider donating? Your donation will help bring clean water to 150 people and entire communities. In fact, after you donate, you'll be able to follow your money, and see exactly what country and community your money will be chosen by Charity Water to help. You'll be able to view your money's use and water location. I'm excited to see where this Marathon money will go, yours and mine. It will be very motivating to follow for years come.

Through my missionary work, I spent time in numerous countries considered to be "Water Stressed." It broke my heart. I lived in huts, tin homes, flats, and in many types of homes and communities where I saw first hand the water struggle. I myself got sick dozens of times, simply from unclean water. I averaged 1 water or food contaminated sickness every few months for 6 straight years.

Unclean water not only causes sickness, but it is deadly. In fact, the World Health Organization states "Some 829 000 people are estimated to die each year from diarrhea as a result of unsafe drinking-water, sanitation and hand hygiene." About 300,000 of these deaths are children under 5 years old. (1)

One final number, Charity Water states, "In 2020, 74% of the global population (5.8 billion people) used a safely managed drinking-water service – that is, one located on premises, available when needed, and free from contamination." (2) Do you know what this mean? This means that over 2 billion people on our planet, today, as you read this, do not have access to clean water. They need our help.

So to conclude, experiencing this first had is why clean water has been one of my personal passion projects over the years. In Guatemala, our founding team started a water project in our ministry, providing dozens of water filters and buckets to individual families all throughout the Antigua area. We personally delivered & helped install these filters to families, and spent time praying and fellowshipping with them. And some of YOU helped with that! Thank you! Did you know, that clean water campaign we started still continues to this day at the Guatemala Base with hundreds of filters now being given.

I won't receive 1 penny from this campaign. And neither will 'administrative' costs. Those have been covered by other donors. That means 100% of your donation will go directly to the water project. Isn't that cool?!

But what I can do is...run! (well, half run and half walk...marathons are LONG :)

Will you join me, in supporting my run, and providing clean water?

All of God's blessings,
Noe

Even $5 can go a long way. Whether $5 or $5,000, let's help our neighbors all throughout the world a little bit today with a privilege that many of us here in the United States access so easily and freely each and every day, clean water.

Here’s a great update for those who donated to my Charity Run for Clean Water for the LA Marathon run in March. I’ve been notified our funds were selected to go to Uganda! How great is this?! Nearly $1,000 to help build sustainable water for children and families in need. I spent time in Uganda several times and access to regular clean water is still very difficult for many people. I got sick several times while there due to water issues. Thank you so much for your support. Next, we will hear about the completion of the water project and will be sent pictures of the community it blessed. Thank you!! 🏃🏼‍♂️ 💦 🇺🇬 🇺🇸 🏅 See my Facebook for photos of this new update. Thank you all!
