----PIECES OF MY HEART----

The # 3, #3 has always been my favorite number. It is probably because I was born in March, which is the 3rd month of the year. Also, you know what they say, "3rd's a charm" *wink*. That has been my motto --> in certain situations in my life.

Without further adieu, on MARCH 2, 2013, I'm turning 33. Yes, you heard it right, 33 years old.

33 Wonderful Years!

At first, this seemed surreal, even daunting. (SIDENOTE: Actually, the truth is...I am proud to say, "I am 33 years old." Serious. No joke.)

Here I am, searching the web for activities to do for my birthday. Sometimes those activities cost $. But then, CHARITY WATER emailed me. This reminded me of the pledged I made the beginning of this year.

IMAGINE this... "millions of people don't live to see their fifth birthdays. And why? Because they don't have access to clean, safe water." Here I am, living in NYC, GREATEST CITY in the WORLD with the best DRINKING WATER. (True: I had the pleasure of meeting the CHEMICAL ENGINEER involved in all that process.)

Over a year ago, I traveled to HAITI to visit orphanages. It was mind blowing and the best decision I made in my life. They had a WELL which provided clean water in that COMMUNITY.

So for my 33rd birthday....

I'm asking for $33 from everyone I know -- and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll be able to see the communities we've helped!

My goal is to raise $3300 by my birthday, March 2, 2013.
