My 38th birthday is just around the corner. 38! Wow, where did the time go? I remember being a young girl and running through the sprinkler in my backyard, having fun in the outdoor kiddie pool and skating on the door rink in the winter time. I remember loving my warm bubble bath time after playing outside all day, water gun fights with my brother and swimming in the lake during the summer.

What I did not realize at the time was I was so very lucky to be enjoying any of those things. They all took water. Something I have always had an abundance of and I have never worried about whether water would make me sick.

Did you know that almost one billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean drinking water? Every day, 5,000 children die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. Shocking right?? I can't imagine what it would be like to be a small child just hoping they make it to age five.

Although things are serious, there is hope. We can all make a difference in changing lives. That is why this birthday I am asking for your help. Please help me change lives. Join my charity: water campaign and help bring clean water to the almost one billion people that desperately need it.
