Why Stephanie Shoopak is fundraising for clean water

charity: water

A few years ago I was truly touched by the work charity: water is doing. I personally believe everyone has the right to accessible, clean drinking water. Last year I did a campaign Walking 4 Water and raised $599 and walked 128.50 Miles!! I quickly discovered that I was pregnant, and being a high risk pregnancy I was bedridden.

Now we have a happy little 13 month old little one and I've gained more weight than I care to admit, but I've decided to shed these pounds, get fit, and to try to raise money for those who don’t have clean, safe drinking water.

I can’t do this alone. I need your help.

My goal is to lose 30 lbs in 3 months and to walk 100 miles. By either donating a set amount, or pledging money for every mile I walk or pound I lose, you can be an active participant in bringing water to a village that desperately needs it. I might not be the fittest person, nor the healthiest, but I am determined to meet my goal of raising $3,000.00 .

Everyday I walk, I will upload a photo from the app “RunKeeper” containing how many miles I walked. Along with the photos of the miles I walk, each Monday I will take a photo of the scale number, and putting it on my blog, tradingpoundsforwater.wordpress.com, as proof to ensure that I stick to my goal, and remain focused on what’s important: clean water.

Thank you.
