Why Susanne McAllister is fundraising for clean water

Welcome to "Together with Susanne", a fundraising project to raise $10,000 in order to bring clean water to an entire community!

You know, I am passionate about a lot of things, especially helping people to live their best and happiest life through my coaching work and Nia. But when I heard a podcast where Scott Harrison, the founder of charitywater.org, spoke about the life and death of Letikiros, a 13-year-old girl in Ethiopia, I could not stop thinking about her for weeks and know I needed to do something and ask for your help.

Letikiros had to walk and climb 10 hours a day to fetch a jug of water for her family. One day, she slipped and fell and broke the clay jug! She hung herself with the jugs rope on a tree!

We can only try to understand what she might have felt. The jug was a valuable asset that could not have been easily replaced, the family would not have water that day and her best friend said, she would have been so full of shame for having broken that clay pot that she rather hung herself than go home.

Her full story is here for you to read https://www.huffingtonpost.com/scott-harrison/the-last-walk-for-water_b_5009352.html

We are so lucky to have clean water and I certainly am guilty of spoiling my own kids a little bit too much. I spend money going out for coffees and stuff I don't really need.

I would love your help and support with this! After you read her full story, Letikiros life and death might touch you too! So let us find ways to make this happen! Get the kids involved and save your change and donate it here. There are so many ways you can help me with this! Get in touch if you want to organize something and I will be there to help.

I can't watch that every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Amazingly, dirty water is responsible for more death in the world than all forms of violence, including war.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can truly do something about this together NOW! That’s why I’m working with charitywater to bring clean water to an entire community. For $10,000 we will sponsor a project. That could mean drilling a well, building rain catchments, or another water solution that will save and improve the lives of the village's population!

Now, I know $10,000 is a lot of money... It will certainly “take all of us to do it "TOGETHER”. But with your help we can have a REAL impact on a lot of people’s lives. Charity:water provides updates, reports, and GPS coordinates on the progress so we can follow it in realtime.

So please make a Donation now or come up with ways to help all the girls like Letikiros!

Thank you so much

Love Susanne
