My birthday is almost here and I am incredibly grateful to have lived another happy, healthy year, and that I can say the same for child and the rest of my family. I spent years in college researching global health and the sad truth is that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday simply because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that. If it were your child, wouldn't you appreciate a little help?

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. (I know I'm getting darn close to 40 this year, so its ok to pretend I'm only half that if you prefer! ;-) ) Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
