Ever since learning about charity: water during my first year at Boston College, I knew that I wanted to partner with this organization to help end the water crisis. In 2023, I had the opportunity to travel with my parents and a group of people from charity: water to Malawi, a small country in Africa that is one of the poorest countries in the world. This trip changed my life forever!
Seeing the work that charity: water does firsthand truly revealed how beneficial their efforts are in developing communities. I witnessed a community receive clean water for the very first time. As the water shot up from the ground, the people from the village danced with joy. I also visited a school that had recently received clean water right on the school campus. It was inspiring to interact with so many young girls whose lives had been changed so drastically by charity: water. Instead of spending their days walking back and forth to collect water, they now are able to attend school and complete their education, creating unlimited opportunities for their futures.
Although the people in these villages didn’t have much, they were so grateful for the clean water provided by charity: water. I truly believe that together we can work to have a world where all people have access to clean water.
Water changes everything!
Thank you to everyone who purchased a book or donated to charity: water!
