I may have done this in past, but this time I hope it will be something different for my birthday.
Instead of gifts, I’m asking for donations to charity:water, an organization I’ve grown deeply connected to — one that’s changing lives with something most of us take for granted: clean water.
I first heard about charity: water during our organization's virtual Convention for a Cause in mid-2020. I listened to the story of Scott Harrison and how it all started for him, and shared about a young girl that walked for hours just to collect dirty water for her family. That image stuck with me, which begs to ask: How can something so basic — clean water — be so out of reach for millions of people?
The more I learned, the more I knew I had to do something.
charity: water doesn’t just build wells. They work with local communities, create sustainable systems, and make sure every dollar is tracked and every project is transparent. I was inspired by their integrity, their mission, and their impact.
So this year, I want my birthday to be about something bigger than me. I want it to be about giving people a chance — a chance to go to school instead of fetching water, a chance to be healthy, a chance to thrive.
Every $40 brings clean water to one person.
Even a small gift makes a big difference.
Whether it’s $5 or $50, your support would mean the world to me. Not just because it’s my birthday — but because together, we can give others the gift of life.
Let’s celebrate with purpose. Let’s give water.
With love and gratitude,
Ramon
