Give the gift of clean water

We’re turning 16.
But we don’t want a puppy, the latest cell phone, or a new car. We just want clean water for all: a life-saving gift and a basic human right.

Right now, you can make our birthday wish come true. Whether you choose to give $16 once, $16 a month as a member of The Spring, or any amount, 100% of your gift will be invested in rural communities.

lives transformed (and counting)

That’s a lot of dreams come true

It’s hard to capture the full weight of 16 years working to end the water crisis. (Actually, our local partners make it look pretty easy.) But the best parties are the ones with concrete, well-researched data, so we’ll do our best.

Bake sales. 10ks, marathons, and ultramarathons. Birthday fundraisers. Spring donations. The means have varied, but every penny has gone directly to changing lives.

Days

We’ve spent 16—hard, wonderful, wild—years dreaming together of a world where everyone has access to clean water. We’re just entering our rebellious teenage phase, and we can’t wait to journey into a season of reckless optimism and tenacious hope with you.

Water Solutions Funded

At 30,140, Nepal boasts the most charity: water projects. (There, water sources are plentiful, just difficult to reach.) Next up is India with 18,322. Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Cambodia follow close behind.

GLOBAL OFFICES

In 2018, we opened the doors on our first-ever international office in London, UK. From collecting dirty water from the Thames to taking a giant inflatable Jerry Can across Tower Bridge, it hasn't disappointed!

We work hard, and we snack harder. At our NYC office, string cheese, Babybels, and anything chocolate were break room favorites. And now that we’re remote, matching outfits are still going strong in the #twinning channel on Slack.

Five stories of transformation out of 15,477,279

When you give to charity: water, you don’t just provide clean water or sanitation. The goodness never stops there.

Ram

India

Given: Progress

Ram was born into the lowest class in India and struggled for decades to earn the respect of his community. Finally, perspectives shifted when he mobilized his community to build latrines so that our local partner, Gram Vikas, could provide much-needed tap stands. Under his leadership, the village is healthier, more children attend school, and entrepreneurship flourishes.

Netra

Nepal

Given: Education

“The difference is between heaven and earth.”

When Netra was a young boy, he often missed class: but not for lack of ambition. Waterborne diseases made consistent attendance impossible. He now teaches English in the same community he grew up in, but everything is different for his students. Community tap stands now flow with abundant access to clean water—and with it, a healthier future for children.

Charlotte

Senegal

Given: Purpose

“Giving clean water to others is the most humanitarian action you can take.”

Charlotte began her career as a civil engineer, but soon found her true passion in hydrology. The first time she saw a community receive clean water, she was overwhelmed by their gratitude and joy. Charlotte has committed her life to bringing clean water to the most remote parts of Senegal—where access is more precious than gold—and the love she has for rural communities is clearly mutual.

Uma

Mali

Given: Opportunity

“We didn’t think this day would ever come.”

Umu and the women of her village used to wake up at 5am to wait in line for dirty water—a task that took hours. But then, her community received solar-powered pumps, a water tower, and tapstands. With the time saved, Umu started a hair braiding business. Now, she spends her days empowering others to look and feel their best.

Grace and Sarah

Uganda

Given: Safety

The walk for water doesn’t just rob women and girls' time. It can be dangerous, with devastating consequences. Sisters Grace and Sarah were both assaulted by groups of men hidden along the remote path to Lake Victoria. These attacks caused Grace and Sarah to become young mothers, which led to intense social stigma. Thanks to our local partner, GOAL, the women of their community have a safe and centrally-located well. Now, women and girls don’t have to risk a dangerous journey for a basic human right.

Dance like nobody's watching

(We’re not going to look.)

Twist and shout. Shake your groove thing. Get jiggy with it. Every celebration needs a good playlist, so we’ve assembled the greatest hits from 2006-2022. (You could even call it our “Party Rock Anthem.”)

We're only old enough to drive

you can still trust us

You deserve to give with confidence, so we’ll always stand by our 100% Model. But we don’t stop there. From our financials, to our tech, to the environmental sustainability of our water projects: “good enough” is never good enough for us. We’re setting new standards for transparency and innovation. These companies and organizations agree.
