Last month, alongside two incredible women, I hiked 67 miles on the Appalachian Trail to honor the memory of my grandmother—who, at age 16, was forced to walk a similar distance after being taken by Nazis during WWII. That journey wasn’t just personal; it was purposeful. Together, we raised $3,697 toward building a clean water well through Charity: Water—and the experience changed us forever.
But here’s the thing: we’re not done yet.
Our original goal was to raise $10,000 to fund an entire well—and we’re still on that journey. So, I’m launching a new challenge. On May 9th, I committed to move 100 miles in 30 days—through running, hiking, and biking—to finish what we started.
I’m calling it:
100 Miles to Finish What We Started
Because I believe in showing up again—even after the AT hike. I believe in staying the course—for clean water, for legacy, and for the people who still walk for hours every day just to access contaminated water.
This time, it’s about endurance for others. It’s about momentum. It’s about every single dollar bringing us closer to a well that will change a community’s future.
Whether you followed our 67-mile journey or are just jumping in now:

Since charity: water was founded in 2006, we’ve been chasing one ambitious goal: ending the global water crisis. Since then, we’ve funded 138,003 water projects, serving over 17 million people.
From the beginning, we’ve made a few promises:
100% of the money donated to charity: water goes directly to funding clean water projects. Private donors cover our operating costs, which means every penny of every dollar can go where it’s needed most.
We don’t expect you to take our word for it. Our next-level commitment to tracking and transparency means we don’t just tell you you’re having an impact. We show you, with GPS coordinates and photos of the exact project(s) you’ve helped fund.
We don’t just drop in, build a well and disappear. When we provide water for a community, we want the impact to be for good — which means we work closely with local partners, remaining invested in the integrity of projects for the long haul.
