We often take allot of things for granted. Most of all, we take water for granted. We leave the tap running while we brush our teeth, or dump out the water we didn't finish (even though we've only just poured it).Every year over 1.7 trillion gallons of water is wasted.
Lets do some math: (God I hate math)
1 gallon = 4.5 litres
1.7 trillion gallons = 7650000000 litres (per year)
7650000000 litres / 365 = 20958904.1096 litres (a day)
20958904.1096 litres / 12 = 873287.671233 litres (an hour)
873287.671233 litres / 60 = 14554.8 litres (per minute)
14554.8 litres / 60 = 242.5 litres (per second)
Even though over 200 litres of water is wasted each second, there are still countered without access to clean water, still children dying of dehydration. In the time it has taken you to read this, over 1000 litres of water will have been wasted.
To combat this, I have stared a campaign along side charity:water to raise £500 by the end of June. I separately made my own donation as I did not want my donation to count towards this campaign as donating separately will allow more money to be made. For every £10 donated, I will walk/run 2km. The walk will take place every Saturday and will be evidenced on my instagram (@cakiebell)
Even though we are all battling COVID - thousands and thousands of people are battling for something we take for granted, something everyone deserves. Water.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
Make your check payable to charity: water. Write the code below in the memo so we can track it to the correct campaign.
Then, drop your check in the mail! You'll receive an official tax receipt about 3 - 4 weeks after your check is processed.
