Why charity: water racing is fundraising for clean water

What would you do for clean water? For the 703 million people living without it, the answer is anything. And they do: they walk miles every day, in treacherous conditions and extreme heat, just to access water that makes them sick — or worse.

That’s why I’m doing this fundraiser. charity: water challenged me to do something to help those who would do anything for water that’s safe to drink.

Leaving charity: water was incredibly bittersweet. It was the right time for me to seek a new challenge, but of course I miss the team every day and still deeply believe in the mission. I've realized how special and unique the organization is - not only because of the excellent programmatic work, but because of the inspiring and generous community who makes the work possible.

charity: water will always be a part of my life, and I'm excited (and slightly nervous) to run the New York Marathon with the c: w team. This is an amazing opportunity to join the community of supporters that makes c: w's work possible.

I would be so grateful for your support of my campaign. Every $40 I raise will provide a lifetime of clean water to one person. Most importantly, 100% of every dollar you donate will go directly to providing the life-changing gift of clean water where it’s needed most. charity: water will even report back with details of where your money went, and how it’s helping.
