The average distance that someone in the developing world walks to fetch water is 3.75 miles.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 to help bring clean water to the developing world and you can help. The CHS Interact Club is hosting its 10th annual Water Walk from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Craig High School Track (located behind CHS) where participants are encouraged to walk 3.75 miles (14 laps) to help bring awareness to the lack of clean water in the developing world. Entry is free, however we will be accepting donations for a non-profit called Charity Water.
783 million people don’t have access to clean water. In comparison, that 783 million is more than twice the amount of the population of the US.
Water borne disease kills more people than AIDS, malaria, and all world violence combined.
This is the world’s biggest “Dirty Little Secret” and it affects 1 in 8 people.
Sometimes women will carry a container that weighs 70 pounds, which is the equivalent of a baby hippo or your 10 year old brother.
Please consider donating to our cause. Interact Club members will earn community service for participating in the walk, and ONE hour of community service for every $50 raised.
