As most of you know that I work for A Glimmer of Hope Foundation (www.aglimmerofhope.org) which is a social profit philanthropic organization seeking to make a sustainable difference in the lives of the rural poor in Ethiopia. I have traveled as a videographer over to Ethiopia 6 times in the last 6 years documenting our work in many rural parts of Ethiopia. I have always wanted to give back but never knew what to do.

So this year, I'm giving up my 34th birthday so children in Ethiopia and around the world can have more birthdays. Instead of asking for gifts, I'm asking for $34 or more from everyone I know. It's not going to me, though. 100% of the donations will go to build freshwater wells for people in Ethiopia and developing nations.

My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts I don't need; it's to give clean and safe drinking water to people without it. A Glimmer of Hope has partnered with charity: water to help make a difference in the lives of these forgotten people.

Shots from the video you see on next to this message is a village that I visited in May of this year. Many people who will benefit from our donations will be people just this them.
