Why Abram Sotocinal is fundraising for clean water

Birthdays really make you want more stuff. I'm not an exception -- even though I don't say it, I do want more stuff.

I haven't even given a care to all of my birthdays as I see it as just another day in your life. You only get to complete a year's cycle. Nothing special, but this time I really want to celebrate it by giving.

I'm nearing a quarter century and I want to do something special -- Instead of keeping for myself, I want to impart things that most of us, including me, take for granted, specifically speaking, water.

Why 25? I don't know. It's some arbitrary number which most people feel special about, so I decided to go with it. Some people think 25 is when everyone should at least know what they want to do with life; I'm happy enough for people who are lucky enough to realize what they want, who, and where they want to be in life. I, for one, am still working on that. But one thing I am sure about is to see other people receive one of the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing, shelter, and water. I may not be able to provide for all, but I do feel blessed knowing other people have water to drink.

Why water? Humans can survive weeks without food but only days without water. I'm too lazy to put all the references here so I just urge you to just google it, but trust me on this: water is essential. Also, water gives humans the ability to cultivate food, so it works better. Trust me.

Almost a billion people in the world are living without clean water -- but how much are they really living? Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 30,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won't, but still have to walk hours each day to get dirty water for their families.

We, who have the capacity to give, need to. Sometimes, we have more than enough and it just goes to waste. Instead of wasting, how about giving it tho whom that need it. Besides, it's good for your karma, if you're into that thing.

I understand this might be too much to ask in such a little time, but it's not impossible. I invite you to join me. A little money can go a long way
