Being able to help others has always been important to me. With my 30th birthday around the corner, I wanted to pledge it towards something I passionately care about -- which brought me to charity:water. Starting September 4th, my birthday, I will be giving up all fluids except water for 100 days. Goodbye coffee, goodbye tea, goodbye wine.

It is easy for most of us to take for granted the value of clean water, which so many people don't have access to. This weighs heavy on my heart. I started this campaign to help charity:water bring life's most basic need to the 748 million people without clean water, and hope to inspire others to do the same. These people are our people.

I am thrilled to take this opportunity to raise a little money to improve the health and well being of those without clean and safe drinking water. In lieu of birthday gifts and cards, I implore you to join me by donating any amount of money towards this campaign -- a small birthday gift to me, and an unbelievably precious gift for so many.

Clean water means health, income and education – especially for women and children. I believe in a future where children spend less time walking to find water for their families, and more time walking to school with their friends.

About your donation: 100% of the money donated to this campaign will be used to build clean water projects. When the projects are complete, charity:water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact location and community we helped.
