Hi friends and family,

At the beginning of the summer I decided that I was going to commit myself to a worthy cause before the end of the year. For those of you who know me, you know that charity:water is very near and dear to my heart. Ever since I learned the mission of charity:water, I have wanted to contribute, to be a part of it, and most importantly make an impact.

The water crisis is huge. And it’s real. Did you know that 1 BILLION people in the world don’t have access to clean water? That is 1 in 8 people. ONE IN EIGHT! Try to imagine going about your daily life without access to clean water. It’s impossible to comprehend, yet that is what almost 13% of the world’s population is faced with each day. Watch the video to your right to see the kind of difference you will make.

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diarrheal diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this. Did you know that 30,000 people die EACH WEEK from PREVENTABLE water-related diseases?!

So, what can I do?

My mission is to raise $10,000 for water. I’ve never had a single goal be this high, so I will definitely need your help!

The best part: 100% (yes, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!) of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll literally be able to see the communities we've impacted.
