There are 748 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!
My birthday is almost here. I'm usually planning some party, but this year I want to pledge my birthday to help millions of people access clean water. I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year, yet my heart hurts to know many around the world cannot say the same. I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that!
I'm asking everyone I know for my age in dollars: yes, 35!! Seem like a lot? I know, but I'm only getting older with time you know? :)
Truth is you can donate absolutely any amount that you wish. $1 will help so much. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
