To my friends, families and loved ones.

This year I'm giving up all my birthday gifts for this campaign. I know that my close friends (especially my bandmates) are always thinking of creative things to do on my birthday and I appreciate that. I totally loved all of that! But for this year you don't have to think much about giving me presents and stuff cause I know what I want. I want you to donate to this campaign and help me raise funds for people to have clean water.

Why am I doing this? I don't really know lol. My contributions to needy people has always been to just give coins to roadside buskers in Singapore or those secondary school kids with the donation cans. $5000USD could help pay off some of my university school fees..I could buy like 4 Gibson guitars with that amount of money holy shit! But yeah...I don't need 4 Gibson guitars and I'll definitely find some way to pay for my university education. In the end I know we can definitely find a way to get what we want because we are the more fortunate people in this world. The fact that we don't want to worry about food, water and shelter is already so awesome...

Anyways yeah, I've decided to pledge my birthday (22 August) for mycharitywater.org and my goal is to raise $5000 by October. Very very very huge amount I know but I always try to aim for the stars cause at least I'll fall back on the clouds. Cheesy sentence is cheesy lol.

I know most of my friends may not have the money (lol students are always poor) to donate but I'm asking ya'll to ask your parents or relatives if they would be willing to donate on your behalf. Hell I think my bank account is depleting rapidly cause of stupid transportation costs in Singapore (we all know that pain!) but I think by the end of this month I'll get my salary money (yay!) and donate more to show that I'm really serious about this.

The donation amount is in US dollars so 20USD is about 25.048SGD...according to the online converter lol. The default amount is $20 cause it's my 20th birthday but you can donate any amount you want (I know $20 is a little pricey..I could feed myself for 2-3 days with $20).

Anyways all of your money is gonna go to building freshwater projects for people in developing countries. You can actually get all the information you want on the website itself. I went through some of the other projects before I received the email asking me if I wanna pledge my birthday.

Anyways this message is from them.

"100% of all donations go directly toward water projects. And about 18 months after this campaign ends, charity: water will show us where and how every dollar we raised ended up helping in the field. We'll see GPS coordinates, photos and more details about the communities we've impacted."

So if you feel like donating, just donate if not it's ok lol but I would appreciate it so much if you can help spread the campaign by sharing on Facebook or Twitter. Don't have to share my campaign if you don't wanna..there's hundreds of other campaigns similar like this you can help by just sharing the main website.
