Well it feels about time for another challenge...especially in this my 40th year... so with this in mind on Thursday 10 June 2021 Adam (my brother) and I will embark on completing one epic cycle and adventure from Lands End to John O'Groats, with mum and dad very sensibly following in the car!

It has been months in the planning and training and I very nearly cancelled it after my first training ride of just 28 miles when I felt I could not go any further! Fortunately thanks to some good weather, persistence and some good training company (thanks Dad, Soph, Adam, Ollie and Rich) I am getting there!

It is always tricky to know who to raise money for, there are so many worthy causes that it is hard to choose.

This challenge I have decided to choose Charity : Water. If you have a minute I would encourage you to watch the short video on this page as it gives a brief understanding of their mission.

Thankfully many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty or to need to drink dirty water.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation, (killing one child under the age of 5 every 2 minutes). Relating such figures to my brilliant nieces it is hard to comprehend the daily realities of life so many continue to endure each and every day.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world.

You have all always been so generous with my challenges so I ask politely again if you did feel able to sponsor me it would be enormously appreciated by all the special people that rely on Charity Water and myself... it will also give me more determination through the saddle sores and rain! Anything you can give is a huge help and will make a difference.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects (none of your money is spent funding the admin of the charity - it all goes to water projects), and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
