September is water month...
My birthday is coming up on September 4... another year older (and relatively wiser).
Recently it has come to my attention that millions of children don't live to see their 5th birthday. Why? Because they did not have access to clean, safe water. A necessity of life and something we all take for granted.
I used to secretly dread birthdays but not anymore; I am celebrating my birthday! And giving it up for this cause.
So, rather than gifts, I'm asking for a donation from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.
My goal is to raise $1000 by September 30th.
