Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean (just ask any of my previous cats)!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me. With the help of my colleagues from the Credit Suisse iClick photography group I'm already helping to raise money by offering free head shot services once a month at the New York Credit Suisse offices and would now like to run my own personal charity:water project.

In my free time I refurbish and sell point of sale systems (those fancy touchscreen terminals most stores have) to local businesses. I also on occasion offer photography services for events and surprise engagements. I pledge to donate 50% of all profits from current and previous sales and services to this campaign. Yes, I could just as easily pocket all the money and use it to buy things to make my life "materially" better but knowing that people don't even have running water in their community really puts things into perspective. I feel it is my duty and this is my next step towards leading a more philanthropic life and helping those less fortunate than me.
