Hi, I'm Carson Black! I'm from Castle Rock, Colorado and I'm currently a Freshman at Colorado State University, and this year I'm giving up my 19th birthday for charity: water.

I've been fortunate to live a wealthy and privileged life, and I realize my obligation both moral and religious to help those who are not as wealthy and privileged as I am. This year I've decided to donate my 19th birthday to help fulfill that obligation. This is a crisis that is not only of unprecedented scale and immeasurable human suffering, it's a crisis that we can realistically solve even within our own lifetimes. charity: water is our jumping off point to solving this crisis, but we can't get there until everybody (whether you're as privileged as I am or more or less!) pitches in their part. So please join me in doing our part in ending this water crisis! I only ask $19 for my 19th birthday but please donate as much or as little as you would like, every dollar counts!! Thank you everybody!!

(Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.)
